Geek chic with atomic timekeeping

We’re normally pretty – no, make that exceedingly – sceptical about LCD watches, but we’ll have to make an exception in this case.

For this little, ahem, beauty is the Casio Pathfinder PAW1200T-7V – a digital timepiece that boasts both solar power and microsecond accurate wavecepter atomic timekeeping. So you’ll never need worry about batteries or that your watch may be slightly too fast or slow ever again.

And yes, just like all digital watches ever invented the Casio Pathfinder PAW1200T-7V comes with a slew of ‘useful’ additional functions that include an altimeter, barometer, compass and thermometer – great if your idea of pub banter is giving your pals up to the minute weather reports every single minute of the day.

Perhaps it’s just as well then that the Casio Pathfinder PAW1200T-7V is also water-resistant to 100-metres for those times when you’ll inevitably get a pint of IPA poured down your anorak.

The $380 (£216) Casio Pathfinder PAW1200T-7V also comes with five 1/100-second stopwatch, five alarms, world time plus a countdown timer and is so rugged you could be run over several times without the watch ever picking up so much as a scratch.

Oh, and it’s available in black resin, green resin or with a titanium strap. Genius.
